Revamp the Creator app to enhance interaction between creators and users, leading to increased content creation.

As the product lead consultant, Akshay planned the roadmap to improve retention and engagement. As the product designer, Rajan developed a new user experience and interface for India's vernacular audiences.

Creators as Artists: Emotional involvement and close community ties require enhanced tools to achieve our objectives.

Poor Onboarding

The process lacked emotional engagement, positioning, and a compelling narrative.

Analyzed the creation funnel to identify drop-off points and improve conversion.

Lack of Interaction Tools

Creators used platforms like YouTube and Facebook for content creation, and our tool did not meet their expectations. This insight was gathered through various user interviews.

First step was to meet the founders to make a roadmap for the first 3 months, this allowed all of us to express our opinion and have a clear vision.

  3. Interactive Sessions: Held ongoing sessions with creators to identify engagement strategies.

Content Management System

Enabled creators to manage post status, comment, and track uploads easily.

Insight #1


We identified a considerable number of users who enjoy posting content but struggle with ideas on what to post.

To engage these users, we introduced a feature allowing them to preselect content from provided templates and add a voice-over.

This resulted in a 30% increase in daily content creation and improved content quality.

Insight #2


After interacting with nearly 100 creators, we observed that most of them initially wrote their content in notebooks before voicing it out on the platform.

To streamline this process, we digitized the entire experience. Our new design allows creators to write their content directly on the platform and simultaneously record their voice, enhancing convenience and efficiency.

Data Driven Insight

One significant observation was that many users were drawn to the app because they could interact with their favorite creators through comments.

A key insight from this is that providing creators with more tools to engage with users can greatly impact our KPIs.

Consequently, we introduced polls and quizzes, creating a loop where creators announce the results the next day. This strategy successfully encouraged daily user return, as they were highly interested in the outcomes.

The Rating Experience

We achieved a 40% increase in daily average ratings by enhancing the rating experience.

Key improvements included:

  1. Use of Emojis: Emojis were used to interact with users, creating nostalgia and attachment.
  2. Feedback for Low Ratings: Users who rated the app 1, 2, or 3 stars were not redirected to the Play Store. Instead, they were prompted for feedback.
  3. Structured Feedback Options: Feedback options were provided based on common issues, such as "Didn't like the content" or "App is buggy," allowing users to select from these rather than typing out their responses, which reduced drop-off rates.
  4. Redirecting High Ratings: Users who selected 4 or 5 stars were taken to the Play Store to leave their rating.
